  5. WEBSITE PLATFORM AND HOSTING

The Whiptail Coffee website is hosted through GoDaddy and uses Squarespace for website management and ecommerce functions.

GoDaddy may process technical information, such as IP addresses, device information, server logs, and security information, to provide website hosting, domain, security, and related technical services.

Squarespace may process personal information and website usage information on our behalf to provide:

    • Shopping cart and checkout functions.

    • Customer accounts.

    • Subscription management.

GoDaddy’s and Squarespace’s handling of information is also governed by their respective privacy policies and applicable agreements.

  6. STRIPE

We use Stripe to process payments.

Stripe may collect and process payment card information, billing information, contact information, transaction details, device information, authentication information, and fraud-prevention information.

Whiptail Coffee generally does not receive or store complete payment card numbers. We may receive limited payment information, such as payment status, card type, expiration information, and the last digits of the card.

Stripe’s handling of personal information is governed by its own privacy policy.

  7. COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES

Cookies are small data files stored on a visitor’s device.

Squarespace uses necessary cookies to operate essential website features, including:

    • Website security.

    • Shopping cart functions.

    • Checkout.

    • Customer accounts.

    • Subscription management.

    • Session and preference settings.

These necessary cookies cannot be disabled through the Whiptail Coffee cookie banner because the website may not function properly without them.

With a visitor’s permission, Squarespace may also use optional analytics and performance cookies to help us understand general website activity, such as visits, pageviews, device types, and how visitors navigate the website.

Visitors may use the Whiptail Coffee cookie banner to accept, decline, or manage optional cookies.

Blocking or deleting cookies through your browser may affect certain website functions.

  8. SQUARESPACE ANALYTICS AND ACTIVITY LOG

Whiptail Coffee may use Squarespace Analytics to view general, aggregated information about website traffic and activity.

Whiptail Coffee has disabled Squarespace’s detailed Activity Log and does not use it to review individual visitor activity.

We do not currently use Google Analytics or another separately installed third-party website analytics service.

  9. ADVERTISING

Whiptail Coffee may occasionally purchase or run advertisements on third-party platforms such as Instagram or Google Ads.

We do not currently use the Meta Pixel, Meta Conversions API, or another third-party advertising pixel on the Whiptail Coffee website to track visitors for targeted advertising.

Third-party platforms may independently collect information when you use their websites or apps, interact with an advertisement, or click a link. Their collection and use of information are governed by their own privacy policies.

If Whiptail Coffee adds an advertising pixel or targeted-advertising technology to the website in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any notice, consent mechanism, or opt-out option required by law before using it.

  10. HOW WE DISCLOSE INFORMATION

We may disclose personal information to service providers and contractors that perform services for Whiptail Coffee, including:

    • To protect the rights, safety, property, and security of Whiptail Coffee, our customers, or others.

    • To investigate fraud, unauthorized transactions, security incidents, or violations of our policies.

    • In connection with an actual or proposed merger, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction.

    • At your direction or with your consent.

Service providers may use personal information only as permitted by their agreements with us and applicable law.

  11. NO SALE OR SHARING OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

Whiptail Coffee does not sell personal information.

  13. CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS

Depending on which California privacy laws apply to Whiptail Coffee and your information, California residents may have rights to request:

    • Information about the personal information collected, used, or disclosed.

    • Correction of inaccurate personal information.

    • Deletion of certain personal information.

    • Information about the categories of service providers or third parties that receive personal information.

Whiptail Coffee does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Whiptail Coffee may not meet the legal thresholds that make every California consumer privacy requirement applicable. We will nevertheless evaluate reasonable privacy requests and respond as required by applicable law.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.

  14. DO NOT TRACK AND OPT-OUT PREFERENCE SIGNALS

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting. Because there is no universally accepted standard for responding to traditional Do Not Track signals, the website may not respond to them.

Where required by law and technically supported, we will honor recognized opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control, for the browser or device sending the signal.

Because Whiptail Coffee does not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising, an opt-out preference signal will not change those practices.

  15. DATA RETENTION

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to:

    • Maintain customer accounts and subscriptions.

    • Process and document orders, payments, refunds, and deliveries.

Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and the reason it was collected.

  16. DATA SECURITY

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information.

Payments are processed through Stripe, and the Squarespace checkout uses security measures designed to protect transaction information.

No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

  17. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

The website is not directed to children under 13, and Whiptail Coffee does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you believe a child has provided personal information through the website, contact info@whiptail.coffee so we can review and, when appropriate, delete it.

  18. THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES AND SERVICES

The website may contain links to third-party websites or services, including Instagram, shipping carriers, Squarespace, and Stripe.

Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. This Privacy Policy does not apply to information collected independently by third parties.

  19. UNITED STATES PROCESSING

Whiptail Coffee operates in the United States.

Personal information may be processed and stored in the United States and other locations where Squarespace, Stripe, shipping carriers, and other service providers operate, subject to applicable law.

  20. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices, technology, service providers, legal requirements, or business operations.

When we update the policy, we will post the revised version on the website and change the effective date or “Last updated” date at the top.
